I subscribe to Notify - NYC -- the City of New York's official source for information about emergency events and important city services.  That statement kind of leaves me wondering what the UNimportant City services are but I digress).

This evening's notice:
"Notification issued 2/18/15 at 5:25 PM. New York City Emergency Management has issued a cold weather alert for extremely cold temperatures & subzero wind chills Thursday, February 19, 2015. High winds are expected to begin Thursday afternoon and continue through Thursday night, with sustained winds of 20- 30 mph and gusts up to 35- 40mph. Temperatures remain around zero Thursday night, but wind chills will be as low as 15 to 20 degrees below zero. Temperatures remain extremely cold Friday, with a high near 15 degrees and wind chills as low as 2 degrees. New Yorkers are asked to exercise caution during this period of extreme cold weather and check on their neighbors, friends, and relatives, especially the elderly and those with disabilities and access and functional needs."
It seemed like a very good night to dream of warmer days in Central Park's Conservatory Garden and to edit some photos of tulips.
