The Peace Tree
The Peace Tree -- decorated with cranes -- is an annual tradition at the Cathedral Church of St. John the Divine. The tradition was inspired by Sadako Sasaki, a survivor of Hiroshima who was immortalized in the book Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes.
And, yes, that is a Phoenix lurking the background.
