Men in Kilts

Men in Kilts by Nancy Lundebjerg on 500px For some reason, the Labor Day parade up Fifth Avenue was not actually on Labor Day (go figure).  So I stumbled upon it on the following Saturday.  There were a fair number of men in kilts marching in the parade. I ask you, what's not to love about a man wearing a kilt? More Men in Kilts by Nancy Lundebjerg on 500px

Times Square Tilt

What can I say?  Times Square was on my way from Point A to Point B and so I dove in to the chaos that is Times Square on a Sunday afternoon in September.  And survived. Times Square Tilt by Nancy Lundebjerg on 500px

Always Remember. Never Forget. by Nancy Lundebjerg on 500px I saw the ten truck last night on my walk home -- turning the corner on to Fulton in the shadow of the Freedom Tower.   The Ten Truck and the Tower. #FDNY Ten House is the closest to the #WTC site. They lost 9 firefighters on 9/11. And a truck. The truck in this photo is a Seagrave aerial 100' and it was delivered in 2013. The 23' flag murals that grace either side of the truck were designed and donated by Seagrave employees. #alwaysremember #neverforget #911 #fdnyinsta remembering #newyorksbravest #chief_miller A photo posted by Nancy L (@nlundebjerg) on Sep 10, 2015 at 5:28pm PDT And a police car this morning in that same shadow. Dwarf Apple Blossom Tree

Image
The Blossom of the Dwarf Apple Blossom Tree by Nancy Lundebjerg on 500px I wonder if this tree actually produces apples?  It's in the gardens of the Golden Rock Inn on Nevis.  The gardens, designed by Raymond Jungles, are chock full of plants from around the world.  This tree originated in Thailand and is also known as the Wishing Tree. One side effect of cataract surgery ( From Severely Myopic to...  and That Time in Between ) is that I've caught up on some vacation photo organizing.  This orchid is from the gardens of the Golden Rock Inn ( Off the Beaten Track Gem ) on the wonderful island of Nevis in the British West Indies. That Time in Between

Sight by Nancy Lundebjerg on 500px I am one week into the two week break between my first cataract surgery and my second ( From Severely Myopic to.... ).   So far so good (knock on wood) -- I'm healing on schedule and there are no signs of retinal detachment.  Plus, my right eye tested at 20/20 which for someone who has been myopic since she was 10 is pretty darn cool.  Except for the two rats that I probably would not have seen on my walk last night in Central Park if not for this new right eye. The only issue I've had is with reading and working on the computer -- which has made the last week a bit challenging.  This was not unexpected given that my left eye still requires a great deal of correction.  How much you might ask?  My eye glass prescription for that eye is -17.5 and my contact lens prescription is -12.  I am anticipating that I won't need correction for myopia in my new right eye but will need readers.  In a nutshell, a pre...
